Sun Spots (Age Spots):
Flat, darkened areas commonly found on sun-exposed regions such as the face, hands, and chest. Often associated with cumulative UV exposure over time.
Melasma:
Brown or greyish-brown patches often appearing on the cheeks, forehead, or upper lip. Typically hormone-related and exacerbated by sun exposure.
Post-Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation (PIH):
Spots that remain after skin trauma such as acne or eczema, especially if exposed to sunlight during healing.
Freckles (Ephelides):
Small, light brown spots that become more prominent with sun exposure. Common in lighter skin tones and genetically influenced.
Pigmented Birthmarks:
Congenital skin markings that appear darker than the surrounding skin and may persist from birth.
Medication-Induced Pigmentation:
Some medications may cause dark patches, especially when combined with sun exposure.
